What is a programmer?

Programmers are called burners in Taiwan because Taiwan's semiconductor industry developed early. After arriving in mainland China, customers call them "programmers" because they are now called PROGRAMMER in English. This English name is the same as that of general software programmers, so they are called "programmers". Programmers are actually a tool to write data on programmable integrated circuits. It is mainly used for programming (or brushing) of microcontroller (including embedded) / memory (including BIOS) and other chips.

Programmers can be divided into general purpose programmer and special purpose programmer in function. Special purpose programmer has the lowest price and fewer kinds of chips. It is suitable for programming with one kind or one kind of special purpose chips, such as only programming for PIC series. Full-functional general-purpose chips can generally cover almost (not all) all the chips that need to be programmed at present. Because of the troublesome design, high cost, limited sales, and ultimately high price, they are suitable for many kinds of chips that need to be programmed.

The basic configuration of using programmer for data replication operation of memory is: a computer (programmer does not require a computer, generally speaking, as long as it can run Windows 98 operating system), a programmer and the driving software matched with the programmer. The general operation steps are as follows:

1) Connect the programmer with the computer. Different programmers connect with computers in different ways. Some are connected to parallel port (printer interface), some are connected to serial port (COM1 or COM2), and some use USB interface (such as RF910). In terms of speed, USB interface is the fastest and serial port is the slowest.

2) Install the driver software of the programmer on the computer and set up the programmer according to the requirement.

3) Run the programmer driver software. The figure shows the interface of RF910 driver software. Select the memory model. Figure RF910 Driver Interface

4) Operating programmer driver software, reading the data stored in the computer as a data source. There are two ways to obtain the memory data source: the first is to find a normal display of the same type as the repaired malfunction machine, remove the memory, insert it into the programmer, read out the data and save it to the computer; the second is to directly use the memory data that has been stored in the computer (it can be the data backup made before by the manufacturer, the data provided by the manufacturer). Or data downloaded from the Internet.

5) Insert the blank memory (or used memory) into the programmer, and operate the programmer to drive the software. The programmer writes the normal data into the blank memory.

6) Replace the new memory that has written data to the fault machine.
